Leather Bracelets for Men, Leather and Gold

The leather bracelet is the entry point that does not look like jewellery. A braided cord around the wrist, a metal clasp at the end — the piece reads as wristwear before it reads as accessory. Monrich leather bracelets pair full-grain genuine cowhide — vegetable-tanned, no synthetic substitutes — with polished 18K gold PVD plated magnetic clasps. The leather is soft against the skin from day one, and ages with wear into a personal patina. The clasp is the same PVD-plated material as the Monrich chain range, so the metal tone matches if the leather is layered with metal pieces.

Braided, Single-Cord, Two-Tone

The leather range covers three constructions. The braided cord — four to six strands of thin leather woven into a single rope, thicker visual, more textured. The single-cord — one round leather strand, cleanest, minimal. The two-tone — alternating leather and metal beads on a single cord, the bridge between the leather and beaded ranges. Each construction uses the same full-grain leather and the same magnetic clasp; what changes is the visual texture on the wrist.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather, Not Bonded

The cheap end of the men's leather bracelet market uses bonded leather — leather scraps glued together with polyurethane, sprayed to look like real leather. It cracks within months and looks plastic from the day it ships. Monrich uses full-grain vegetable-tanned cowhide — the same leather grade used in proper leather goods. The vegetable tan is slower (six weeks vs days), produces less chemical waste, and gives the leather the soft hand-feel that ages into a patina. The downside of vegetable tan: slower production, higher cost. The upside: a leather that gets better with five years of wear, not worse.

Pair With a Beaded Bracelet or a Metal Stack

Leather layers best with stones or metal at a similar tonal scale. A black leather cord plus a black onyx beaded bracelet reads as a uniform dark stack. A brown leather plus a tiger eye beaded bracelet reads warmer. For mixing leather with metal, the cleanest pairing is leather plus a Cuban or ID bar from the waterproof range — leather brings texture, metal brings structure.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What leather is used?
Full-grain genuine cowhide, vegetable-tanned, ages with wear (develops a patina). Three colours: black, brown, dark tan. No bonded leather or synthetic substitutes.
How does the magnetic clasp work?
Strong rare-earth magnet inside a PVD-plated metal housing. Snaps closed with a click, releases by sliding open laterally. Tested to hold under 3kg of pull — far more than any normal wrist movement.
Can I wear leather in water?
Brief water exposure is fine (rain, hand-wash). Prolonged exposure (shower, swim, sea) accelerates leather wear — the natural fibres swell and dry stiff. Take leather pieces off for the shower; the metal clasp is waterproof but the cord is not.
What sizes are available?
Three sizes: 19cm, 21cm, 23cm — wrist measurement. The leather cord does not stretch significantly, so size accurately. Measure your wrist with a string and a ruler.
Will the leather fade?
Vegetable-tanned leather develops a natural patina over months of wear — slightly darker in the high-contact areas, lighter where the leather flexes. This is intentional and considered the look. The colour does not fade dramatically; it deepens.
Can I stack leather with metal?
Yes — leather pairs cleanly with beaded, Cuban, ID bar bracelets in the same colour palette. A black leather with a gold Cuban reads as the strongest pairing in this category.
